The three main types of traditonal chinese clothing are pien-fu, ch'ang-p'ao, and shen-i.The pien-fu is and ancient two piece ceremonial
top and a skirt or pants extending to the knees or ankles. This piece of clothing extends back into Chinese history. The style of pien-fu has changed greatly overtime from plane colors to complicated embrordery and patterns beond beliefe. Worn by bolth men and women. The ch'ang-p'ao is a piece of clothing that extends from the sholders to the heels. Worn by only women for regular everyday life.The shen-i is more of a mix between the pein-fu and the ch'ang-p'ao. The shen-i is the most common ware out of these three clothing types. It was worn for casual and for classy events.
In the Chinese colture colors mean everything. Dark colors, complex embordry, and woven tapestry desighns are worn for ceremonies and special ocations. As light colors are worn around the house or to run aronds.
